Dulux Weathershield Protect Dustproof (upgrade of Dulux Weathershield Protect) is a premium exterior acrylic emulsion specially designed for protection against the extreme weather elements like dust and sunlight. It has been enriched with Dust Shield Technology which resists dust from settling onto the exterior walls. Super durable binders that provide extreme protection against efflorescence & Anti fade colours that remain on the walls for longer periods of time.
Application Description
Step 1: Surface Preparation
Ensure surface is clean, dry and free from all loose dirt, chalk, grease, fungi, algae and flaking paint. This can be achieved by brushing with a wire/stiff coir brush, followed by water jetting if required. Use Dulux Aquatech Pre Treatment Coat to ensure that algae and fungi are removed from the roots.
Step 2 : Application process
With Waterproofing-
For New Surface: Prime the surface with Dulux Aquatech Damp Protect Basecoat. After 1 priming coat apply 1 undiluted coat of Dulux Aquatech Damp Protect Basecoat on the vertical walls. Ensure coverage of the water proofing coat as recommended for DFT achievement & good waterproofing.
Normal Application-
Application of putty is not recommended. Apply 1 self-priming coat or 1 coat of Dulux Weathershield Prime Coat Exterior Acrylic Primer or Dulux Weathershield Alkali Bloc PU+ Primer after thinning with water in the ratio of 1:1 by volume.
Step 3: Drying time
Touch dry for the paint is up to 30 minutes.
