Dulux Aquatech Damp Protect Basecoat is an Exterior Waterproof Basecoat that can be applied on vertical as well as horizontal surfaces. Its unique AquaProtect Technology prevents the penetration of water and can handle up to 5 bar of Hydrostatic Pressure, providing waterproofing performance for up to 5 years. The basecoat is efficient in bridging the cracks of up to 1mm and provides SunReflect property that helps to reduce the surface temperature by upto 5 Degree Celsius. Application Description Side Wall Application: • Clean the side walls properly as per recommendation. • Apply 1 coat priming of WS alkali Bloc primer/ Dulux Professional WS E1000 Sealer as per recommended dilution or a self-priming coat of Dulux Aquatech Damprotect Basecoat with 30% dilution. • Post Drying apply 1 coat of Dulux Aquatech Damprotect Basecoat without dilution and allow for 6-8 hrs of drying. • Post Drying apply 2 coats of Dulux Weathershield Protect or Dulux Professional WS E1000, Dulux Weathershield Max or Dulux Professional WS Elastomeric, Dulux Weathershield Powerflexx or Dulux Professional WS Flexx, with recommended dilution. • Please ensure 6-8 hours of drying between the 2 coats. Proper film thickness is essential for the water proofing. Therefore it is important that Dulux Aquatech Damprotect Coverage shouldn’t exceed 40-45 sq.ft/Lit. • If recommended coverage is not achieved additional coat must be applied for desired performance. Roof Application: • Clean the roof and parapet surface thoroughly as explained above. Apply a self-priming coat of Dulux Aquatech Damprotect Basecoat over the dried surface by diluting with water up to 30% followed by 2-3 coats of Dulux Aquatech Damprotect Basecoat without dilution using a brush or roller. • Achieving a proper DFT is very important for water proofing. Therefore, achieve a forced coverage of 10-15 Sqft/litre. If forced coverage is not achieved apply an additional coat of Dulux Aquatech Damprotect Basecoat. Note: • To ensure 100% waterproofing performance, cover the full roof including parapets. Dulux Aquatech Crackfillers can fill in cracks of width upto 5mm, 10mm and 20mm on different surfaces with its Unibond Technology. As a first for the industry, Aquatech Crackfillers can be used on cracks that are upto 20 mm in a single application. Our crackfillers have high strength, are non-shrinkable, quick-drying and can accommodate minor structural movements due to its flexibility. The specially formulated crackfillers can accept nails and screws as well. Application Description Surface Preparation: • Widen the grooves to make a V shaped surface. • For the Interior surfaces, existing POP or putty must be removed till the plaster surface is exposed. • Ensure the groove is thoroughly clean, dry and free from all loose dirt, chalk, grease, fungi, algae and flaking paint. This can be achieved by brushing with a wire/stiff coir brush, followed by water jetting if required and use the Dulux Aquatech Pre Treatment Coat to clean up the fungal infested walls. • Treatments such as sanding, burning off etc. of paint films may generate hazardous dust and/or fumes. Wet sanding/ flatting should be used wherever possible. Work in well ventilated areas. Use suitable personal protection equipment • If after thoroughly cleaning the surface, the surface still exhibits chalkiness, the surface should be coated with Dulux Exterior Acrylic primer for exterior surfaces or Interior Acrylic primer for interior surfaces. Finishing: • Check the depth and width of the crack and choose the right filler • For Worm crack, use a cutter to widen the same and use 20MM Crack Filler • For hairline crack which is not very deep, widen it with the V groove blade and use 5MM Crack Filler • For cracks around doors and window frames which have varying widths, from hairline to 10MM, use 10 MM crack filler • Thoroughly apply Dulux Aquatech Crack Filler such that it penetrates the surface & level off using a putty knife. • Press the Crack Filler firmly into the crack to ensure full contact with the surface and level the surface properly. • Fill properly and care should be taken to avoid any air pockets or void formation. • Sponge the surface after the sample is touch dry condition to remove any excess of materials adhering to the sides of the cracks. • Leave the surface for drying for at least 3-4 hours. • Protect repair from rain and frost until completely dry. • Paint the surface with further systems as required as per normal painting application practice for interior and exterior surfaces. • Clean the application tools with warm water. Aquatech Waterblock 2k is a specialist 2 component product that provides protection against water penetration for interior walls, bathrooms and kitchens. Its unique Hydro breathe technology prevents swelling, blistering and chalking of paint. The breathable coating prevents the top paint layer from peeling off. The coating is suitable to be applied on the interior surface of swimming pools before applying tiling or topcoat. The product can be applied in water tanks as well. Application Description Surface Preparation: • For the Interior surfaces, existing POP or putty must be removed till the plaster surface is exposed. • The surface must not be loose, it should be strong and free from dirt, dust, chalk, loose particles. This can be achieved by brushing with a wire/stiff coir brush, followed by water jetting if required or move the loose particles with air compressor. • Oil or grease must be removed with degreasing solvents; otherwise it will hamper the performance of the product. • Any cracks in the plastered surface should be filled with Aquatech crack fillers as per the requirement and other damaged surface should be repaired with cement and sand mixture or polymer modified repair mortar. • Before application of the product, the surface must be pre wetted and saturated to a surface dry condition, which improves the bonding of water block 2K to the substrate. Mixing Ratio: Waterblock 2K Solid Additive: Waterblock 2K Liquid Additive = 2:1 (By weight) Mixing Procedure: • After opening the mono carton, shake the liquid component properly for a homogeneous mixing. Transfer the entire liquid component to a clean mixing vessel and then slowly start adding the powder component under constant stirring with a stirrer using a pneumatic or electrical power tool (1KW) at slow speed of 200-300 rpm for 5-6 mins to get a homogeneous, free flowing and lump free mixture/slurry. Application: Interior Wall Application: • Two coat of mixed slurry of Aquatech Waterblock 2K to be applied to the set concrete/Plaster @ 10 - 15 sqft/Kg by a masonry brush or appropriate powder spray equipment. • The second coat should be applied when the first coat is completely dry. Drying time after the first coat should be 1-2 days. • For Damp walls, ensure the full wall is applied with Aquatech Waterblock 2K. • The treated area should be protected from direct sunlight and to be damp cured by covering with damp hessian or similar system. • Allow the second coat to dry hard for 4-6 days. After proper drying the normal painting procedure for Primer, putty, Primer & top coat can be followed. Concrete slabs or roof slabs: • Two coat of mixed slurry of Aquatech Waterblock 2K to be applied to the set concrete/Plaster @ 5-6 sqft/Kg by a masonry brush or appropriate powder spray equipment. • The second coat should be applied when the first coat is completely dry. Drying time after the first coat should be 1-2 days. • Allow the second coat to dry hard for 4-6 days. Water tanks and Swimming pools: • Two coat of mixed slurry of Aquatech Waterblock 2K to be applied to the concrete/plastered surface @ 6- 7 sqft/Kg by a masonry brush or appropriate powder spray equipment. • The second coat should be applied when the first coat is completely dry. Drying time after the first coat should be 1-2 days. • Allow the second coat to dry hard for 4-6 days. • For water tanks, both sides of the tanks should be covered for a better result. • The treated area should be protected from direct sunlight and to be damp cured by covering with damp hessian or similar system. Marbles/Stones: • One coat of Aquatech Waterblock 2K slurry to be applied at the bottom side of the marble @ 2 mm + thick at coverage of approximately 5 sqft/Kg Health & Safety Treatments such as sanding, burning off etc. of paint films may generate hazardous dust and/or fumes. Product Description Aquatech Roof Waterproof is a best in class product which provides protection on roofs and terraces for up to 12 years. Its unique PU Hybrid Technology forms a tougher, more elastic protective film of up to 600-800 microns over porous roof surfaces. The film is highly flexible which bridges cracks of up to 2mm preventing water seepage, carbonation and fungal attacks. The coating has got best in class adhesion and thus can be used on multiple surfaces like brickbat coba, plaster, china chips and mosaic tiles. In order to keep the surface cool during summers the coating also provides Sun Reflect of up to 10 degree Celsius. Application Description • Clean the roof and parapet surface thoroughly as explained above. Apply a self-priming coat of Dulux Aquatech Roof Waterproof over the dried surface by diluting with water up to 30%. • Apply first coat of undiluted Aquatech Roof Waterproof using brush or roller on roof and parapet surface. Allow the surface to dry for 5-6 hours. • Apply the second coat of Dulux Aquatech Roof Waterproof at 90° to the first coat application. • Achieving a proper DFT is very important for water proofing. Therefore, achieve a forced coverage of 8-10 sqft/litre. If forced coverage is not achieved apply an additional coat of Dulux Aquatech Roof Waterproof. • Allow the system to cure for 7 days before carrying out any adhesion tests. • To ensure optimum waterproofing performance, the entire roof including parapets even if it is a joint parapet wall, drainage slope of the roof and sunken floors will be covered with the coating. Extra care needs to be taken in areas with joints and water spouts since any crack or fissure of any nature will give rise to ingress of water which in turn will deter the desired performance of the paint. • Total thickness to be achieved is 600 - 800 microns. Maintenance: • Any horizontal surface will have dirt accumulation. In order to maintain/clean the surface it is essential that only soft cleaning is done. Clean the terrace after 3 months to remove the accumulated dust. • DO NOT use wire brushes or any other hard cleaning tools over the Dulux Aquatech Roof Waterproof painted surface. • Check for adhesion loss after a year. • In areas where adhesion loss occurs, remove the coat extending 1 feet. Follow the regular procedure of roof coating. • Do not use sharp or pointed objects on the coating as they may rip them off. Normal foot traffic is permissible. • Do not use strong bleaching agents or acids to clean the surface. • Overflow pipes for the water tanks need to be grounded properly so as to ensure the proper water runoff from the surface.
